Using Thrift Store Handbags to Decorate Teen Girls Bedrooms

Here is a bedroom decorating idea that your teen daughter will love! What girl over the age of 13 doesn't love handbags? This decorating idea will be a hit with everyone. It is unique and it will solve your daughter's storage problems at the same time.

Choose a section of wall space in her room and paint it a co-ordinating color to match her decor. This will form the backdrop for her eclectic handbag collection. If you want it to really look like "art" you can frame the area by attaching molding to the wall or artfully do some block painting. Mount coat hooks randomly around the framed area. Paint them the same color as the wall so they will blend in or leave them as is if they are decorative.

Now comes the fun part. You get to go shopping! You can find funky handbags and totes very cheaply at thrift stores and dollar stores. It should not cost much more than $20 for a selection of 10-20 handbags. Choose a variety of sizes from little clutch bags to large roomy totes in bright colors and interesting textures.
Hang the purses in a pleasing arrangement on the hooks.

Now your daughter has all the storage space she needs for her accessories, CDs, cosmetics, magazines, etc. PLUS she has a great supply of handbags to use anytime she wants. Maybe if you are lucky she will let you borrow them too!
